rosa ✧ blava × Moychay Barcelona continue Phases of the Moon - a series bringing together cinema and tea through films rooted in specific cultures, visual traditions, and states of perception.
The third chapter opens a Japanese micro-cycle with Ghost in the Shell 2 (Mamoru Oshii, 2004), one of the defining works of Japanese cyberpunk.
Behind its detective story, the film explores the instability of human identity in a world where consciousness, memory, the body, and the network are no longer clearly separated. Oshii combines action with long, meditative passages through the city - canals, rain, reflections, shop windows, mannequins - turning the urban landscape into part of the film’s philosophical structure.
Ghost in the Shell had a major impact on Western science fiction and became a key reference for The Matrix, both visually and conceptually.
For this screening, Moychay Barcelona will introduce a selection of Japanese teas, opening a new direction within the tea program of the series.
