Origin: High mountain ecological tea gardens in Fujian, China. Altitude ranges from 400m to 1200m, with year-round mist and significant temperature variation.
Cultivar Background: Huangmeigui is a national-level tea variety developed by the Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, using Huangguanyin as the female parent and Huangdan as the male parent. Passed Fujian Provincial Variety Approval in 2005 and National Recognition in 2010. Although versatile across tea types, yellow rose green tea is exceptionally rare and precious.
Appearance: Tightly curled, compact leaves with plump buds. Yellowish-green in color with an even, lustrous finish.
Aroma & Taste: Rich, high-penetrating aroma — known in oolong production as “aroma reaching heaven,” a distinctive trait rarely seen in green tea. Alternating notes of fresh and floral fragrance that linger gracefully in the cup and on the palate. The liquor is pale yellow-green. The taste is fresh, sweet, and mellow, with a smooth, gentle texture that quickly gives way to a long, satisfying sweetness. Rich in amino acids (approx. 5%) and tea polyphenols (approx. 15.9%).
Brewing Suggestions: Water temperature 85–90°C, glass cup or porcelain gaiwan. Use 4g tea per 200ml water. First infusion: 15–30 seconds; can be steeped 3–4 times. Lower temperature preserves the delicate flavors.
