Lao Bai Cha — Aged White Tea — is a traditional white tea from Guizhou Province, produced from Fuding Dabai cultivar (Fuding Da Bai Cha, 华茶1号), hand-picked by the one-bud-two-leaf standard and processed through sun-withering and drying. The tea was harvested and made in May 2020, and has since been naturally aged under controlled dry storage.
This white tea traces its origins to Mount Taimu, where a kind-hearted woman named Blue Maiden used the wild “Green Snow Bud” to save sick children during an epidemic. The tea later became known as the ancestor of all white teas. Over centuries, white tea gained a reputation for its simplicity and transformation through time — lightly processed, yet deeply refined. As the saying goes: “One year tea, three years medicine, seven years treasure.”
This batch has aged for over five years, developing a warm, amber liquor with soft notes of dried fruit, herbs, and wood. The taste is mellow and soothing, with a rounded mouthfeel and a lingering, clean aftertaste. Each infusion reveals new layers shaped by time and nature.
