The name 祥瑞汉瓦 can be read as “Auspicious (Xiangrui) Han Tile” (literally “propitious omen — Han tile”). The exact, historically codified teapot form called this is not widely documented, so the identification is ambiguous. However, the name suggests a teapot inspired by Han-dynasty roof or ceramic tiles and decorated with auspicious motifs.

In general context: Chinese teapot forms—especially in Yixing zisha and later Jiangsu or Zhejiang wares—often borrow architectural and archaeological shapes and pair them with auspicious names. References to the Han (206 BCE–220 CE) indicate a classical or archaistic source, while 祥瑞 signals carved, incised, or molded symbols of good fortune (clouds, bats, shou characters, etc.). Such designs became popular in revivalist and scholar-object traditions from the Ming onward and in later decorative teapots.

Shape note: expect a low, rectangular or slightly curved body echoing a tile slab, a flat or shallow lid, and a short, straight spout and handle integrated into the planar geometry. Surface treatment is likely relief or incised decoration evoking tile patterns and auspicious motifs rather than purely naturalistic modeling.
Wood-fired handmade Yixing teapot made from Duanni clay sourced from the original Huanglongshan mine. Xu Shun Wei.
